Foundations of Kinesiology Taping
Description
Foundations of Kinesiology Taping is a clinically focused course developed in collaboration between Dexterity PD and RockTape, designed to enhance your ability to use elastic therapeutic taping for movement support, pain modulation, and performance. Built on the principle of taping movement, not muscles, this course goes beyond basic application and focuses on how kinesiology tape interacts with the body through neurosensory input and the fascial system. You’ll strengthen your clinical reasoning while learning practical, movement-based techniques you can confidently apply in real-world practice.
Learning Objectives
Understand the “Why” Behind Taping: Apply taping strategies to common conditions, including low back discomfort, shoulder strains, ankle sprains, and post-operative care. You’ll gain a deeper understanding of how and why kinesiology taping works, develop practical strategies you can use immediately, and build the confidence to integrate taping seamlessly into your treatments. This course is designed for direct application—no additional training is required to start using these techniques right away.

Steve Capobianco, DC
Dr. Steven Capobianco is a clinician, educator, and innovator in manual and movement therapy with more than 23 years of experience. A 2003 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic West, he holds a post-doctoral diplomate in rehabilitation from the ACA and is a certified strength and conditioning specialist. As cofounder and Senior Director of Medical Innovation and Education at RockTape, he teaches kinesiology taping, soft tissue techniques, and movement-based strategies to clinicians and athletes worldwide. When he is not teaching you can find Capo on his mountain bike, playing hockey, training for Ironman triathlons, or chasing his two dogs when they attack the Amazon driver.
